Journey to a Better Life Bootcamp
At BMA we focus on giving women a "hand up" and not a "handout". Your bad decisions do not have to haunt you for the rest of your life! "Journey to a Better Life Boot Camp" is designed to assess needs, discover strengths, and assist women in launching their God-given dreams and ideas into reality. Life can be tough at times, but with a little motivation and support, the sky is the limit! We incorporate the sewing classes, computer literacy classes and financial literacy in these boot camps. This six-month program has been known to give women a chance to be the better version of themselves and seize the opportunity for a fresh start!
Financial Literacy Classes
BMA partners with Empower Federal CU, Macko Financial Group, and M&T Bank for the most updated financial information and products to help our clients make good financial decisions. They cover topics such as:
- cleaning up your credit
- increasing your credit score
- budgeting
- investing money wisely
- smart bill paying
- identifying fraud attempts
Computer Literacy Classes
Technology can be a real challenge, to say the least. But in today's society, you cannot function without it! Learning how to use your laptop, tablet or smart phone would be much easier if someone could just walk you through it a few times until we get it, right? That's what we do! Technical Literacy classes are open to the community twice each year, including online "how to" videos!
Fun and Interactive Sewing Classes
The first day of school for your child is on the horizon! No doubt they have clothes that need to be altered, buttons to sew on and just general maintenance of their wardrobe. BMA's Executive Director is an excellent seamtress! Our "in-person" sewing classes are open to the community for a small donation. We hold at least two series of sewing classes per year. You will leave with a new skill that will save you lots of money and cut your Christmas shopping list at least in half! Classes will be announced one month prior to start with a two week enrollment period. Spaces are limited; first come first served, so when you see the announcement, act fast!
